We love the place, O God,
Whereby Thine honor dwells;
The enjoyment of Thine abode
All earthly pleasure excels.

It’s the home of prayer
Whereby Thy servants meet;
And Thou, O Lord, artwork there
Thy chosen flock to greet.

We love the sacred font;
For there the holy Dove
To pour is ever wont
His blessings from above.

We love Thine altar, Lord;
Oh, what on earth so expensive?
For there in religion adored
We discover Thy presence close to.

We love the Phrase of Life,
The Phrase that tells of peace,
Of consolation within the strife,
And joys that by no means stop.

We like to sing under
For mercies freely giv’n;
However, oh, we lengthy to know
The triumph track of heav’n.

Lord Jesus, give us grace
On earth to like Thee extra,
In heav’n to see Thy face
And with Thy saints adore.
