“Father, I Know That All My Life” by Anna Letitia Waring

Father, I do know that each one my life
Is portioned out for me,
And the adjustments which are certain to come back
I don’t worry to see;
However I ask Thee for a gift thoughts
Intent on pleasing Thee.
I ask Thee for a considerate love,
By fixed watching smart
To satisfy the glad with joyful smiles
And to wipe the weeping eyes
And a coronary heart at leisure from itself
To assuage and sympathize.
I might not have the stressed will
That hurries back and forth,
Searching for for some great point to do
Or secret factor to know;
I might be handled as a baby
And guided the place I’m going.
Wherever on the earth I’m,
In whatsoe’er property,
I’ve a fellowship with hearts
To maintain and domesticate
And a piece of lowly like to do
For the Lord on whom I wait.
So I ask Thee for every day energy,
To none that ask denied,
And a thoughts to mix with outward life
Whereas maintaining at Thy aspect,
Content material to fill just a little house
If Thou be glorified.
And if some issues I don’t ask
In my cup of blessing be,
I might have my spirit stuffed the extra
With grateful like to Thee,
Extra cautious to not serve Thee a lot
However to please Thee completely.
There are briars besetting each path
That decision for affected person care;
There’s a cross in each lot
And an earnest want for prayer;
However a lowly coronary heart that leans on Thee
Is pleased anyplace.
In a service which Thy will appoints
There are not any bonds for me,
For my inmost coronary heart is taught the reality
That makes Thy kids free,
And a lifetime of self-renouncing love
Is a lifetime of liberty.
