Immortal, invisible, God solely smart,
In gentle inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most superb, the Historical of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy nice identify we reward.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as gentle,
Nor wanting, nor losing, Thou rulest in may,
Thy justice like mountains excessive hovering above
Thy clouds, that are fountains of goodness and love.

To all life Thou givest, to each nice and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true lifetime of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree
And wither and perish, however naught changeth Thee.

Nice Father of glory, pure Father of sunshine,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All reward we might render; O assist us to see
’Tis solely the splendor of sunshine hideth Thee.
