My Savior's Love by Charles H. Gabriel

I stand amazed within the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene
And marvel how He may love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.

How marvelous, how great!
And my music shall ever be:
How marvelous, how great
Is my Savior’s love for me!

For me it was within the backyard
He prayed, “Not My will however Thine.”
He had no tears for His personal griefs
However sweat drops of blood for mine.

In pity angels beheld Him,
And got here from the world of sunshine
To consolation Him within the sorrows
He bore for my soul that evening.

He took my sins and my sorrows;
He made them his very personal.
He bore the burden to Calvary
And suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory
His face I eventually shall see,
’Twill be my pleasure by means of the ages
To sing of His love for me.

Take heed to the sermon “Who Is This?”
